Apart from the amusingly lul stuff the MBT-70 (out of all the said stuff it had, I found the self-orienting driver capsule rather funny since it made the drivers allegedly throw up), was it intended for the thing to be thrown out of a plane or lugged by helo?

Nope, definitely no
Its projected weight is 50 tons, easily creep up to 60+ tons with upgrades that was inevitable.

Even the humongous Mil V-12 world record is only 44 tons.

Anyone notice Santa Claus near the left hand side of the picture? Very small. He is riding on his sleigh with two reindeers. Anyways could be Santa Claus or not.
