No matter how messed up but still alive, I doubt any commander who waded knee deep in hell with them wouldn't be happy seeing their subordinate as they are, even if they're quite messed up and forced to turn against them initially.

EDIT: with that note, I wonder if in the army days Ruriko was Inazuma's equivalent when he went a step too far... I mean as Re she heavily countered and got Reiji's arm and this is already saying that the guy is way past his supersoldier prime

Is she the one that looks like inazuma from the pic from way back when? Or was that actually inazuma? I recall something about inazuma coming in and saving him so i might have gotten things mixed uo...

Use the tag "hayase_ruriko_(yua)" to search for the old photo. Yup, that's who she is.
From the plot so far, I think Inazuma came to the rescue only moments after Ruriko and others got devoured by that To-class.

the amusing thing is that the commentary is right, compare how she is post all that recent crap, to this image of her back in Reiji's army unit days.

well even with all the experimental mods and shit he had he is still only human at the baseline and doesn't enjoy the perks of shipgirl biology he can't enjoy a bucket or what not and be restored seconds or however long he decides whatever what we call a bucket in-game works.

I think back when they were still in the army, she assumed Inazuma's role.
Might explain why she knows how to counter Reiji's move...
Plus, the growing of the boobs part. Reiji might have seen Hayase's image in Inazuma...or maybe that's just my assumption.

Well with the sheets like that it be almost impossible not to notice. If she is somewhat shipgirl-ish she is armed with two lethal weapons. If the situation weren't serious, "Washboard" would be prepping torpedoes about now to counter the Admiral.
