Tauros was arguably the best normal type in Gen 1; but oh how the times have changed from back then... the Meta (war) has changed!
When I first played the Blue version way back when I used a Tauros to defeat the Elite Four. Stomp, Takedown (I think), Hyperbeam... and I forgot the last move.
Still Tauros pulled me through due to its bulk and attack power.
I never used normal types back in Gen 1, so I wouldn't know - they all seemed weak to me. I just used an Alakazam to kill everything in one round because LOL type imbalance!
maybe earthquake? since tauros' earthquake was busted
