If you like action movies, you'll like kingsman. It's a mix between 007 and kick ass, sort of.
Specifically, it's made by the same director as Kick Ass converting a comic to the screen from the same original author.
So yeah, it's Kick Ass but instead of a comic about how comic book superheroes and people who like superheroes suck, it was an original comic about how James Bond sucks... made into a movie by a director who thought the thing the comics parodied were awesome, and mashed them together into something with a really schizophrenic tone.
The Kingsman basically revolves around the idea that besuited landed English old-guard gentry need to protect the world from American commercial imperialism... by sticking up for British imperialism. (Which is better because... it's more fashionable?)
Or, more to the speed of the people who really like this sort of thing, it's an excuse to see someone kill people with a variety of umbrellas in highly choreographed fight scenes.
The first Kingsman movie is like Men In Black, in that it's all about the training of a new member of a new generation (who notably isn't as blue-blooded as the old guard), but then like MIB 2, they have to contrive a reason to reassemble the same cast even after the old guard was supposed to no longer be active.
Yeah, why would a guy asking what a movie's like want to know anything other than "there are fight scenes"?
Because telling him there are some good fight scenes isn't spoiling the meta or the plot to him and allowing him to see if it's something he'd like. Both movies are out on streaming services or dvd/bd nowadays, it isn't a 24USD endeavor with time spent in a theatre.
That said, seeing Iowa in Channing Tatum's Tequila outfit made me read his intro line in Iowa's voice.
This line: You know, my momma... she always told me, 'Us Southerners get our good manners from the British.' So I was thinkin', "Ain't that a pity? Y'all ain't keepin' none for yourself." Y'all ain't ever heard of knockin' before you enter?
Not sure if intentional or not but Ido has Iowa cosplaying as Tequila who was absent for about 75% of the film, similar to a certain game I know of. Drugs are bad Iowa, mmkay.

At least we can now imagine Iowa in a one-piece line dancing uncontrollably.
