The lore of LoL changes completely all the time. Dont forget that the League of Legends was originally a group of super power mages that summoned warriors from other universes to fight for them because fighting themselves would destroy the planet. Its only recently that they actually have to start locking down the lore since they are making other properties like Arcane, so it makes sense that they would canonize popular fan theories
