And the red liquid, based on its thin consistency and seemingly random distribution appears to actually be water... which has been colored red for some reason... For the ones who don't understand, this is called a contrast map. The red color is meant to represent areas on which lighting effects needs to be worked on and the intensity: the red marks on Wakasagi's hair, for example, denotes areas which needs highlighting. The pink marks on the bear's body, Saggy's obi and tail needs shadowing, and the red liquid simply means they need to add glisten effect on it later.
