... that's it? Everyone ignores his death or didn't really care about him to begin with, and so he's fine with being dead? Yeah, it's probably why he committed suicide to begin with, but what was the point of this then?

Probably to show that suicide can be good, if he's really not one to miss. Nothing to be attached to, no clinging, no revenge, no regrets, nothing.

To enter the deep nothingness, where nothing, no regrets, no desires, where nothing but the void resides.

Some find that a very comforting thought. Not me personally, but I can understand why some do.

THERE ARE THOSE TO WHOM THE BODY IS A PRISON OF FLESH, THEIR MIND A TAPESTRY OF GUILT, THEIR MEMORIES A VAULT OF SHAME. TO BE IS TO SUFFER, THE ONLY RELEASE IS TO GO BEYOND IS AND IS NOT.THEIR DEPARTURE IS FREE, AT LEAST, OF DOUBT.

It is morbidly heart breaking for me to realize this option is actually viable.

Try "Flan Wants to Die" by Tsukumizu.
    Or Oyasumi Punpun.
