One thing that bugged me about the show (I guess from a realism standpoint) is that if they use explosive rounds, the people could easily get killed or seriously injured by shell fragments or flying debris, especially if they are sitting unbuttoned out the hatches and not wearing any kind of protective armor.

Their military uniforms do seem externally procured, so maybe they're carbon-coated like the tanks...? o_O
Or maybe they're carbon-coated themselves... or are robots... or ninjas...? That would certainly explain some of the scenes from the movie where tanks tanks are flipping over with the girls hanging out yet being just fine afterwards (Chi-Hatan + Team Duck, 01:43:50-01:44:06 Der Film, Example: post #2441372).

Oy, you guys are making me think of that doujin where half the cast gets killed by incineration or machinegun fire. o_O And when I went through HMMWV rollover training, and everybody had to help pull the gunner in through the top hatch to keep them from getting squished. XD

if the "maybe explosive rounds" things just bugs you, what about how they should yell pointblank just to give basic orders, since they mostly don't use communication devices, given the incredible amount of noise around :)?
