Um, if I had known the original source or could visually identify the artist, I'd have tagged it thusly. All I could say about it was that the file's been on one HDD or another since 2006 and that, by the file name, I probably got it off a Usenet binaries group. I can't imagine that either of these tidbits of information would have been of any use as to identifying the item in question, nor did I either request a change in user status or receive notice of any additional strictures on posting.
If you happen to be part of the "powers that be" here, feel free to "demote" me, or whatever. I've just posted stuff I happen to like, and if I can't identify it and the "image search" failed to find it, maybe someone else here can (as "casshern2" apparently did with this image, and others have in previous posts), which presumably helps us both. Neither do I have the rest of the sequence, or at least it isn't in the same batch of files.
If it's a requirement to identify the work, characters, artist, original URL location of all posts and provide sequential materials in their entirety, you might as well delist me entirely. Because I can't always be certain thereof, or indeed possess. Sorry.
Nah, your cool Crotalus. Just because people post things doesnt mean they have to put the source I think. Also, I dont think people should be demoted for it either. I think its enough people find stuff of goodness and post it here anyway. I mean like what if someone found a CG set of a very rare hard to find PC game that everyone whos anyone wanted and posted it here but didnt put the source? Would you be mad that he posted it with no source or mad that he posted it altogether?
You make a good point man. Ive got over 30,000 pics in my collection and i continue to have problems with identical pics and sources from different sites over time. Maybe if danbooru put IPTC info in there pics (using Irfanviews thumnail bulk editor options for example) it'd make identifying Danbooru's pics from other sources or maybe other stuff like that very much easier for people that collect.
