Possibly interesting to note that Hiei is at least closer to being Kongou's "proper" sister than the other two; she was assembled in Yokosuka, but most of her parts were imported from Britain. She was sort of the IJN's "bridge" case between buying complete ships from abroad (Kongou) and building them from scratch at home (Haruna and Kirishima).
