    作れなくはないとは思いますが、きれいなものは作れないと思いますしね。

    ちなみに頼まれてから実際作るまで、一年くらい間があいてます。
    外で作業するには寒かったり遠征で忙しくてとかいろいろとありまして(^^;)

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2867

    It's not that I couldn't build one, it's that I couldn't build one neatly.

There was about a year between being asked and actually building it, by the way. All sorts of stuff would hold it up; it would get too cold to work outside, or I'd be busy out on tour, stuff like that. (^^;)

Pre-translation. Is Kogasa intending on doing DIY surgery to deal with the stones problem?? XD

That looks like a magazine rack to me.

My first thought exactly ! A lot of surgeon's tools do come straight from the carpentry shop.

Always wondered about those Japanese saws.

Isn't the double-edged blade an accident waiting to happen?

Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke (western saws cut on the push which lets you put some weight into the cut), so the only time you should be applying any degree of force would have your hand slipping away from the blade.

And if it were dropped, I'd be applying the same rule you should with a knife: a falling knife has no handle.

IIRC the two sides normally had different sized teeth back in the day (many still do I think) one coarse and one finer for detail work. Probably quite useful back in the day when these things were made by a blacksmith, but likely less important now that basically anyone can afford multiple separate handsaws.

    Since You Request
Could you make me a little cubicle out on the veranda in which we can put the garbage processor?
It stinks when it's inside, and it'll get weatherbeaten if it just sits in the open on the veranda.
    Newly purchased items.
    Why so many tools?
With only this in the house, there's no way I could build a cubicle...
