Unit 01 is going down. I don't care how powerful it is, no mecha piloted by a emo wuss will ever come close to defeating the pure, concentrated awesome that is Gurren Lagann.
I may be shooting at a barrel but they're likely evenly matched in their current state. Of course berzerk EVA-01 vs Giga Drill Breaker is to be seen...
Evangelion's EVAs are almost certainly bigger than TTGL's ganmen, since in a ganmen the torso is a cockpit, whereas in an EVA the cockpit is a plug in the back. I'd say about 4 times bigger, maybe?
Anyways, I notice that 01 is missing its' power cable. Is that because it's been cut or because it's gotten an S2 organ? If it's the former, then Spiral Power > Limited Power Supply. If it's the latter... then it's anybody's guess. My money's on Gurren Lagann on account of pilot mentalities; Hot Blood beats everything a whiny teenager can come up with, berserker rages included.
Cockpit size in relation to total size of mechs will give you an approximation of size of mechs in relation to each other. The assumption is that the absolute dimensions of a cockpit will be the same in all mechs because human beings who sit in them do not vary in size from fictional universe to fictional universe.
The absolute terror field that surpassed that of Zeruel against Spiral power. Both forces can be created again and again, both mechs can replace limbs they've lost, both pilots have had mental break-downs, the match up is great. BTW these are probably the two greatest most epic shows evar, so it's hard to say.

Eva-01 Weapons: Absolute Terror Field, Progressive Knife, Eva Rifle, and the Lance of Loginus
Determine it how you wish, but these are the "edges" I give. AT Field > Spiral Barrier (AT field is not only a superior defense, but also a weapon) Progressive Knife < Drill (The GL drill has broken just about every blade out there) Eva Rifle < Extended/launchable drills (GL has been shot before and shown no lasting damage) Lance of Loginus = Giga drill break (I say draw, because the two weapons are on god level when it comes to power. The LoL can pierce anything, even the drill but it's a one shot weapon. The GDB has been beaten before but can be used multiple times.)
