    There are a couple of things with Aoba's camera that rub me the wrong way (speaking as an amateur / hobby photographer).

    • A camera body design that heavily resembles most semi-pro and hobbyist models, with no OVF / EVF?
    • A modern camera with a rear LCD screen but fitted with a fixed lens and collapsible bellows only found in ancient folding cameras?

    To be fair, she gets all gushy over his clothes, and has a life-sized plush that resembles him. The photos could just be him smiling at the camera and that's enough to send a critical hit to her heart.

    When in doubt, just assume that it's a piece of fairy-made/designed equipment that makes no sense to a mere mortal like us, the Admiral or the rest of the non-shipgirl human population of the world, but makes perfect sense to the fairies and (hopefully) the shipgirls (or at least the ones that said equipment is aimed towards).
