In fairness to all involved, it wasn't the best idea to literally have her promise him that she'll be loyal and then in 5 minutes drop him. Granted, she had simmering feelings against him for awhile, but unless I forgot a scene in the madness that followed, I don't think there's ever a resolution for this.
He just marries some unseen person, opens a bakery and grows a mustache. I want to see the arc where he decides what is best in life.

In all seriousness though, it is an unfortunate situation but it ultimately is better to know if someone doesn't love you sooner than later so you can spend that time finding someone who does.
