    That's a monkfish (Lophius sp.). The "traditional" method of preparing them, at least in Japan, involves hanging them from a hook like that and carving them in the air. IIRC, the character Megumi did just this at one point in Shokugeki no Soma, if you would like a reference for the general appearance.
