I do like how no matter what Patchy would like to avoid making Reimu angry because she's worse than a battle between Flandre and Byakuren.
"If we upset Flandre she could cause a ruckus" "That would be bad" "And if Hijiri finds out, there might be a fight" "That would be worse" "And if Reimu finds out, she will get mad" "That would be the WORST!"

Now you've reminded me of My Neighbours are Phantoms. It's been a long time since I last saw that film. Although it's Taoism against the vampires... well, they are escaped spirits that were trapped in a picture, but they're often called vampires in the movie and they fit all the western vampire tropes. The English translation was one of those check minus jobs you got for HK films before reunification. Just adequate enough to get paid. I believe they get referred to as elves at one point too.
It's a very cheesy comedy horror. Lots of funny things like learning how to make an invisibility talisman, and then doing it on a large piece of paper to physically hide behind... which failed because it wasn't big enough for four people without something hanging out. So move on to having someone sneak behind the vampire and hang a smaller one from a stick in front of his eyes.

I mean, "Buddhists vs. Vampires" is basically the premise of the first and second Jojo's Bizarre Adventure stories, given how hamon is presented in those stories.
So they basically weigh the options: if they take Lily from Flan, Flan will rampage, which would be bad, however, not trying to save Lily would mean Byakuren and co would come to save her, which would cause an incident which could attract Reimu, which is not good for ANYONE. So they conclude their best bet is to save Lily sneakily, because even if it’s not sneaky enough, the worst case scenario is not as bad as an all out Incident
