Came here on the last day of support for Windows 7 to show my support for Nanami, may the best OS to ever exist go up with the great Windows XP as some of the best OSes ever
Yeah, you think DEATH would be the more appropriate response
You would be amazed about how many business still use XP, other remote places still use DOS. Graduation is a more appropriate response (won't be taught anything else, her career has reached to an end).
Having said that and knowing Windows 10, it's time to switch OS forever for anything other except gaming. Linux here I come, it's been a long time. Time to dust off those commands.
End of support doesn't mean a product isn't usable anymore, it just means that you won't be receiving any updates related to exploits and bugs found in the OS, or any technical help related to the OS. Afaik, there are no known serious exploits or bugs related to Windows 7 at the moment, so there is nothing barring you from keeping to use it until a critical exploit or bug that can endanger your PC is discovered.
Also at least Windows 7 won't ever become the bloated OS that is Windows 10 with all those unnecessary forced updates.
Yeah, I personally have come to understand the term graduation and love it. Death means everyone mourns your loss and you are gone forever, where as graduation is something to be celebrated, and while you are no longer the main focus anymore there are still many things you can do in the future and you can always stop by for another visit. I'm still using Windows 7 for the time being until I can get a Windows 10 laptop, but I'm very happy at the literal decade of service 7 has given me and I will always stop back in the future to use 7 for nostalgia and other things. Windows 7 and XP never really died, they just graduated and moved on from general use, yet I still come back to both time and time again.

lol I'm attempting to get every offline download. I still use Nanami as a VM.

Speaking of those forced updates, they actually broke the os for me at the start of this year (2022) & the automatic recovery fails every time. Having never liked 10, I've gone back to 7 & never knew I could/would be so happy just to be using an operating system.

I'm still on Windows 7 for the time being since I'm on an ancient laptop, but I'll move to Windows 10 at some point. Thanks to the ESU I'm able to stay with Windows 7 for 5 more months from now at least.
