I concur.
I was growing attached then... THEY DIED. WTF.

The series would have been hell of a lot more awesome if it was about those two and their crew or Kensuke and Kagura instead of a prequel to the superior manga.

The prequel was already awesome enough. It was full of drama and awesome cliffhangers.

Even if it wasn't about what you mentioned.

I would have liked these two to be more involved with the main story of the anime. Other than the flashback in episode 1, we never really saw how Touru and Yomi crossed paths. And Yomi seemed to be "not evil" yet

So many undeveloped possibilities.

I lost interest in the anime when you know what happened in the first episode. But that's just me as I really liked these two.
