Is it though? It would seem weirder to me for magic and supernatural creatures to just have never existed at all prior to the Abyssal appearing really. Seems more logical to me for the Abyssals to be a new type of creature that busted open a masquerade rather then to have appeared out of thin air as the first supernatural creatures ever.
