I just seen the first episode, it's definitely very different from Kancolle. You get to see actual full scale ships, and not to mention, Kaga's ship turned into a huge nine tailed fox! Of course there are some similarities, but Azur Lane has that edge.

Huh, as someone who had absolutely zero expectations any news is good news I suppose.

To be fair though that Kancolle is older so AL gets to benefit from the experience and learn from it. In addition the AL anime gets better production overall. Although KC is getting a second season so we have to wait how it compares to its first season.

Its not perfect and has some minor glitch, but still more fun to watch than kancolle.

imo it's more about the story. Just from the first eps you can already tell that AL will be action packed. While KC one was more slice of life type of story. Also from what I can tell AL will be more about faction vs faction while KC was more about Fubuki.
Just saw the 1st episode and it exceeded my expectation.
The way they summon their equipment kinda remind me of Saint Seiya, which was pretty cool.
Then I had some WTF moment like what I thought was a simple unicorn plushie grew up, and that fox tail beast that Kaga summonned.
I was like "hey, I don't remember I could do that in the game" xD
But it's been a while since I saw a pleasant episode 1.
What I hope though is they're not going to give full focus on the Azur Lane faction (Eagle Union & Royal Navy) and somehow give views from the Red Axis faction (Sakura Empire & Iron Blood).
