    友人の作家さんがでかいマッサージチェアを持ってますが、部屋が「マッサージチェア部屋」と化してました。
    うらやましかったですけどね(笑)

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3279

An author friend of mine has a huge massage chair, but the room it's in was changed to "the massage chair room". I was still jealous, though. :-)

That was fast. Usually he takes longer to start crying.

Must be a *really* good massage chair.

Reader-added tags at this point consist of "Kogasa-san lost to reality" and "It's sad, but that's reality".

There's nothing great about owning these chairs. In fact, I hate them with a passion.

When my maternal grandparents passed away, they left behind a hugeass non-working massage chair that nobody wanted to claim. And since my mom was the eldest daughter, it was decided that she would inherit it. That thing now sits at a corner of our apartment as a giant eyesore because Mom refuses to get rid of "mother's final gift" even though she dislikes it.

About seven years ago, when my unmarried aunt from my extended family passed away in China, we had the unenviable task of travelling all the way to Hangzhou, where we found that she too had an old giantass massage chair collecting dust for years and the upholstery was in a advanced stage of decay. Needless to say, none of her neighbours and relatives wanted to have anything to do with it. So we hacked that junk into pieces with axes and dumped the spoils at a bulk refuse disposal centre.

Never seen one, and I generally associate massage chairs with Clinton-Era sitcoms, each of which had a mirthful episode including their pleasures.

    They were a simple people.

However, this strip indicates that --- contrary to the 'you-can-do-anything' boosters, some problems are insoluble.

It's fixable if you replace the house.

Good luck trying to get the city to approve that, with how small lots are.

You don't need a full massage chair, they make these nice massager devices that you drape over the back of an ordinary chair and they work just fine. Not as fancy, but it only takes up about as much space as a standard throw blanket and you can use it with any decently-sized chair.

He doesn't want A massage chair.

He wants THAT Zero G Massage Chair which has all those special features.

We proved it couldn't fit into my room...
    Reality
    Sorry to keep you waiting!
I finally made it to Hachinohe!
    Hey, what's the matter?
The massage chair I wanted is too big...
Not that it couldn't fit, but she wouldn't be able to put anything in there besides the massage chair.
    I don't really understand...
