    高知中央郵便局で内勤してました。
    『第三通常』と『第二通常』という部署で一生懸命仕分けしてましたとさ。

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3402

I worked inside the Kōchi Central Post Office. I put all my effort into sorting the Third Class and Second Class sections.

I can kind of understand why Kogasa jumped ship, but still...

you know, Kogasa being so good at electronics made me wonder why he didnt join to any Engineering course. He would probably get a more interesting job than postal worker.

    A federal civil servannnnt!?

    .

    Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Japan is not a federated nation --- unlike alas Germany, which is composed of formerly jealous separate nations [ mostly under the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, but not united ] --- but a unitary state under the divine Emperor of Japan.

Sorry, I was going by what I felt were the standard terms for someone employed on the national level. Serves me right for going on automatic.

    Easily done.

[ I even checked with this pdf from Chuo University... ]

    Chuo Provinces

Not understandable at several readings: English local government structure is still more complicated, partially because they shuffle them about and rename them whimsically.

When they heard he'd quit his job and gone to Tokyo to become a manga artist, all our relatives said, "Why'd you allow that!?"
Now that he mentions it, what job did you have before?
That's how they got mad at us, too.
    Worked There 5 Years
    A national civil servannnnt!?
At the time, I couldn't find any decent manga work if I didn't go to Tokyo, so I went.
    I see.
    I was a postal worker.
    How could you waste that!?
