I assume from everyone's lamentations that the worst outcome happened. She quit or was fired.

A test stream of her L2D model was leaked and CLOVER considered it a breech of contract when it was their fault, Then they cited that Mana wasn't physically or mentally ready to be a Vtuber and accepted an option to "graduate" which means she basically accepting being fired for something she didn't do.

    That's incredibly fucked up.

Pretty much the gist of it. We'll never know for sure, but it sounds like it was her decision. The full text from COVER Corp.:

    Announcement of Mano Aloe’s Graduation

Thank you for your continued support of hololive production.

We regret to announce that, due to personal reasons, 5th generation member Mano Aloe will be graduating from hololive on Monday, August 31, 2020.

We apologize for the misunderstandings caused last time due to the lack of a translated official announcement and the delay in adding subtitles to the apology stream. As such, we would like to explain the circumstances in more detail this time.

Mano Aloe debuted as part of hololive’s 5th generation on Saturday, August 15, 2020.
However, after signing the contract with COVER Corporation but prior to her official debut, Mano Aloe conducted a test live stream on the video streaming service TwitCasting, in which she used her then-unreleased Live2D model.

This stream recording was not deleted afterwards and remained available to the public. As a result, her model and the nature of her character were leaked prior to the debut of 5th generation.

COVER Corporation deemed this to be a breach of contract for disclosure of confidential information, and as such placed a two-week suspension on Mano Aloe, which began on Monday, August 17, 2020.

Upon further discussion, however, Mano Aloe decided that she was not physically or mentally prepared to continue with her activities. In accordance with her wishes, we have decided that the best course of action would be to allow her to graduate from the group.

We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

We would like to thank all the fans and everyone involved in their support for Mano Aloe despite her short tenure. We apologize for the confusion and concerns that have resulted in relation to this incident. We sincerely hope that you will continue to support our company and our talents in the future.

    Monday, August 31, 2020
    COVER Corporation
    CEO: Tanigo Motoaki

    From T-chan:
For privacy and confidentiality reasons, not all details could be addressed in the official announcement.

How was it their fault? Regardless of whether suspending her was the right call, she was the one that failed to delete the test stream.

The test stream had the approval of her manager which means by extension, Cover corp knew and approved it. It is the manager's responsibility to manage such things. Note that in the recent copyright issues faced by Cover, it was the managers who privated and even deleted videos to avoid copyright infringement. It should have been Aloe's manager who deleted the test stream knowing full well it should not be there long.

Another thing, that test stream was set to private aka it should not have been public in the first place. Unfortunately, Aloe got doxxed and this private video got leaked along with another controversial one. The latter is not officially recognized by either Aloe or Cover. However, antis are using it as fuel to hate on Aloe.

    Controversial Twitcast

A private twitcast (another one) of hers originally from 2019 where she talked about details of vtuber industry including info about the retirement of a Nijisanji vtuber. Japanese fans did not like her talking about the industry and revealing sensitive info and some are not even true. Thus, they want her fired for not being trustworthy.

Japanese fans are literally the worst thing that ever happened to their industries forever. I mean fucking honestly. They didn't like her talking about the industry so they sought to get her fired. fucking troglodytes.

What the fuck is this shitty post? Did you even read the official statement? Even if you want to pull some conspiracy theory out of your ass that her retirement was forced instead of her own free will, consider this first: If they wanted to fire her, they would have done it two weeks ago using the breach of contract which is more than ample reason. (As anyone who has signed any kind of NDA would know)

Also, you have somehow managed to fuck up both Cover and Mano Aloe's name in this tiny, biased and deceptive post. What are you even trying to do here?

As for how much blame should be levied on Cover for not noticing and fixing Aloe's mistake in testing the L2D, I can understand the viewpoints from both sides.

However, if you decide that Cover should be blamed for not fixing Aloe's mistake, then I ask: What does this change?

She avoids a breach of contract, and then what? Should she try and stream while the haters still have their attention on her, and using "she got off scot-free for being careless" as ammunition? Or should she take a break? If it's the latter, then nothing of significance has really changed, has it?

Alright, this is a pretty current and heated event (may the voice behind Aloe find peace and success away from all this).

This isn't a venue for getting into fights or attacking involved parties, or other users. Lets stay cool and give this some time to settle.

It's time to move on. Arguing on who should be actually blamed or not won't make her come back.

And if you really think of it, she is ultimately responsible for what happened. There are things you DON'T DO as an idol (whether anyone likes it or not), and yet she was careless enough to do several of those. AND, she was the one who doxxed herself (a detail almost everyone seems to be forgetting). Being an idol is NOT easy in the slightest. So that begs the question; Was Aloe ever really professional enough for this line of work to begin with?

Note that many of the vtubers, professional or not, are very young -- early 20s or even younger. Aloe, from what I understand, was very much on the younger side herself.

It's not wholly a matter of professionalism or not if the industry involved deliberately draws upon inexperienced talents. Not at all uniquely a Hololive thing either.

I don't know if the agency did all could behind the scene or not. but the PR bullshit in Aloe's graduation statement is really disheartening. They really make it sound like "Aloe couldn't mentally or physically deal with ..... the suspension caused by her own mistake and called it quit". She is a victim here really. Why not just say she has been harassed online and irl and couldn't deal with that? Also make a statement like "please respect our vtuber's private life, we will always support our agents, and we will make sure the same tragedy will not occur in the future". Maybe it is a wistful thinking but that would really sit right with me.

I'd like to have seen that as well, but such a statement could be easily seen as lashing out at the audience, and that's something that never bears good results. Furthermore, what would it accomplish? These antis are just bullies, pure and simple, and if a bully hears "please stop", they're not going to stop - if anything, it might make the bullying worse.

Cover can't do much in this case. They're not a private security firm or anything. All they could do was give Aloe a slap-on-the-wrist "punishment" for the L2D leak, allowing her an excuse to take time off and assess what she wants to do from here on. I'm sad about her decision, but it was hers to make, and all we can do now is respect it and wish her the best.
