That is hilarious, for just reading the word Taiwan, they didn’t say it they were reading it from the analytics from what I see, is enough to get them so riled up.
I always wonder, what is the Chinese government so afraid of, besides the fear of losing power and control. But then again, the chinese government is lucky to have the most sheep-minded population in the world. Most Chinese people tend not to care about much as long as they are not personally affected(I know from experience). Hell, if the Chinese govenment decided to up and reestablish themselves as Emperors, most of the people wouldn’t even mind. But even then, there are only so much you can do to press down on the peasants.
The long Chinese history and their Emperor’s dynasties can easily tell you that.
Most of this kind of stuff it usually leads to a self fulfilling prophecy really. Of course, they might be able to suppress it for a while but eventually...hoo boi.
I do not look forward to the carnage that will take place.
Its because China, especially under Xi, is very, very obsessed with having the CCP as the central authority above everything else. They consider Taiwan to be a rogue province. In 2018, for example the CCP made a deal with the Vatican that in exchange for the Chinese Catholics swearing loyalty to the CCP, the CCP being allowed to select Bishops, and the CCP being allowed to, effectively, remove foreign influence from the Chinese Catholic system, the Vatican received some donations from the CCP in return.
China is a major influencer in a lot of media, from ESPN to blizzard bowing to them either because of Chinese investors or because of the Chinese market share. As a result, there is a lot of behind-the-scenes changes made to appease the Chinese government. What happened with Coco happened to be a rare case of this spilling over to somewhat mainstream channels among an internet-savvy group.

Ah yes, and there it lays the problem. The idea of Mr.Xi being the next Emperor Qin. Well, I hope they savor that as much as possible and do their best to find the Elixar of Immortality.
I’m sure out of everyone, it would be the Chinese people who know about the importance of ruling over with more than just force and fear. I have no doubt of that since the Chinese are the most studious and educated in the long lessons of history. I also say again, that they are very, very lucky they are being in control of the most laid back and uncaring race in the world. However, I hope they also know that the Chinese people are also a race that can hate stronger than any other race in the world. But once again luckily, that hate tends to be reserve for those outside of our race but even so it is not to be underestimated. Especially when we are forced to care or worry about ourselves. Although, I do believe they are doing a good job of suppressing as much of that as possible.
You be surprise how much disdain we still have for the western country and that is much, much before all of the propaganda.
If I remember correctly, before Mr.Xi was able to take power the CCP was slowly losing control. Of course they were still very powerful, but were slipping. I hope they have a very good plan to fall back on besides trying to establish Mr.Xi’s family dynasty if he was to ever be unable to govern because if even a small crack is form, it is going to let out a mighty stream that will wash everything away.
Europe learned that the hard way, as did many past Chinese Emperors. But once again, I do not think it will happen anytime soon.
On one hand, a suspension for mentioning Taiwan at all is a bit ridiculous.
On the other hand the Hololive girls do apparently have a fairly large Chinese fanbase, and if the Chinese Government does get pissed about it there is the safety of Hololive CN to worry about, I can understand, to a degree, the extreme action being taken.

its already too late, Kiryuu Coco has been added to the automatic censor in China already.

It's not just Kiryuu Coco but it seem to be also Akai Haato as well. What seemed to have happened was that it was Akai that said "Taiwan" and Coco was just along for the ride. Given her track record, it seems she's the one that got the blunt of the hit compared to the two.
I'm flagging this post because it's a photoshop and third-party meme edits are against the upload rules.
This is a hot topic right now, so I want to clarify that talking about it is fine, and posting (non-photoshopped) art about it is fine, but photoshopping another artist's work and posting it on Danbooru is not fine. This is consistent with past decisions, for example, how post #3762637 wasn't allowed (because it was a photoshop), but post #3653074 was allowed (because it was an original work).

Well, Coco is american, so she's automatically an enemy of china even if she was making the most money there. The reaction to her is on par with people who positively hate another nation with the furor of a jilted girlfriend. Haato isn't getting threatened with porn deep fakes, but she is going to get anti-ed and doxxed.

Fair enough. I didn't realize that this was photoshopped when I saw it on Reddit.
