What's interesting about Hololive English is that they seem to be taking off as well as the main branch. With Hololive Indonesia and especially China and Holostars they're not nearly as popular, to the point where they come across as lesser spin off groups. With Hololive English it's more like they can stand next to the main branch as equals.

No kidding. Their sub and viewer numbers are wild considering they've only been around about a month.

For ID it's the language issue, all 3 do speak perfect English but they also speak just as much Indonesian and I mean no offense to Indonesians but that's just not the language your average foreign anime fans expect and it puts up a language barrier the way the EN girls don't have.
Then there was also the fact they debuted before Hololive hit peak popularity, so they just didn't get the same boost as EN. Even then most of them already got over 100K, that is already an enviable count compared to all ID Nijisanji livers(except Hana).
What I find strange is despite being the most fluent in Japanese, as well as the one to do the most collab with JP, Iofi has the lowest sub count of the 3.
For China they're simply not on Youtube so it's obvious they won't reach us as much. The only one who is on is Civia and that was just very recently, where within a week of her Youtube debut EN immediately debuted after and took her spotlight right away. Nevertheless 55K is still a respectable number.
I always find Holostars to be the biggest victim(and biggest proof of Cover's incompetency even long before Aloe), considering they proved time and time again they have every bit as much dedication and talents as the girls, yet they barely get the attention since even without the ban they still barely got chances to interact with Hololive. It's telling when they seem to have more friends in Nijisanji and VOMs than in Hololive. I mean if only they were in Nijisanji they'd all be breaking 100K by now.
I think it could easily have been remedied if they have an all-Holo production collab of some kind. Let ID, EN, and Holostars all participate with JP and give them all equal treatment. That should be able to give ID and Holostars the credit they deserved.
What's also interesting is how many subs Ina pulled in. I assumed her and Kiara's roles would be reversed and she'd be one of the lesser liked one.
I believe I had a discussion like this on post #4114309, someone basically said that the reason Kiara isn't as popular is because of her upload schedule.
English unites the world like few things have. It's the most common 2nd language in the world and the 3rd most common first language. There are three times as many people who've taken it as a 2nd or 3rd language than those who have it as a native language.
