All I know of are the accusations of Artia being a major instigator of a harassment campaign against Coco during the Taiwan Controversy. Let's just leave it at that rather than kick that particular hornet's nest.

considering there are wumao bots attempting to harass coco also on nijisanji nah I doubt it... (I think the bots work on an existing vtuber database)

There's a lot of breadcrumbs that caused the accusation; 1. Prior the Taiwan incident, Artia once admitted that she once involved with a harassment campaign, and she's proud of it; 2. Artia, using her Hololive twitter account, likes the news for Coco and Haachama's suspension announcement; 3. During Coco and Haachama's suspension, she (along with Civia) have Wolf Warrior (militaristic propaganda movie that spawns the term for the current Chinese chauvinism sentiment) let's watch session in BiliBili. While the first two are circumstantial, that last one is especially damning.

Liking a post on twitter can mean absolutely anything, it doesn't always literally mean you "like" it.

Considering what kind of harrassment was being thrown around during that time, and that their families live in mainland China, the Wolf Warrior watchalong seems very likely a means to protect themselves and their families, not a genuine indication of their feelings of the situation. There were already several things they allegedly said that were all proven to be attempts at instigators to stir trouble.

I would think that if Cover found out their girls were directly involved with a harassment campaign against their own company, they would have been asked to resign immediately for violating contract, and not given the graceful leave they were.

I suppose it's entirely possible that Cover simply didn't find out or covered it up on purpose, but it's not like they wouldn't be able to notice something that suspicious if it happened. These accusations that Artia wanted to sabotage Coco and Haato don't quite add up in a few other areas as well; the proof I keep reading about is hardly what I'd call decisive given the circumstances.

It's best not to hold these kinds of grudges anyways. It is already done.

Really, I will always be skeptical of any "evidence" of Artia being a CCP shill. Those people are never quiet or subtle, if that's the type of people the HoloCN girls were, I would think there would be way more evidence of it, and people would have been talking about it way before now. The fact it was only now, when a major incident occurred, that suddenly all this proof is appearing from thin air is way too suspicious.

And when you consider how much of that "evidence" could be confirmed as lies from antis and instigators even by a toddler, it just becomes too far-fetched for any of it to possibly be true.

I followed her twitter from her pre-debut to her graduation, and I can't confirm any of the 3 "evidence" stated above, but I can also say that I'm pretty sure she had stated interest in a Coco collab before the incident, and her tweets right after it were a neutral-stance hope to return to normalcy where vtubers and their viewers can have fun again.

Wolf Warrior wasn't with Civia, that was Doris. In this entire shitstorm, Civi, Echo and Yogiri seem to have cleared the heat for the most part, while Artia, Doris and Rosalyn are more heavily implicated (Rosalyn especially harshly, but since Artia has more visibility in the West, she's the one attracting the most flak.

And now the CCP has issued new streaming guidelines. Mea seems kinda fucked with the no vulgarity rule.

Basically Meaqua fanbase is now literally dead in China.

"All streaming platforms need to register at a government website to promote a standardized government registry."
Does this mean that all streaming channels need to register at the government or the services?

Also rule no. 6 seems incredibly draconian. Its a shame no one outside of a small niche is aware of how much China restricts its citizens regarding every small detail.

I'm pretty sure people in China are quite used to being deep-scanned by their government, but this is effectively putting a shotgun to foreign interest. No one is going to take Chinese streaming seriously with rules like this. If Hololive didn't already have a reason to jump ship, I have little doubt they would have withdrawn their interest once they saw these rulings.

In retrospect, that might be what really happened. It might be possible that Cover's contacts in China got advance warning that there was going to be serious legal fallout after that incident with Coco, and the China team negotiated that it would be best to leave now before the announcement and save face.

As if the decision for Artia and the others wasn't already hard enough, but at least now I can see that perhaps this is for the best.
