I thought this was due to MC going Monk eating all the counters, but since Six appeared to be part of the team, he would have been the one who drew all six hits of counter with Counter Claw + Dodge All.

The boss has party wide ougis and MC is the only one who can't keep reliably dodging unlike the other characters in the picture who have dodge all and/or greatly increased dodge rate ups, hence he's beaten up. Also since MC is always on the first position he usually ends eating all the counters on auto attacks.
