I actually don't think those are brown eyes, seems to correspond to the "Shadow" personalities of the characters in P4.

Well they're certainly not the yellow eyes that Shadow versions have. Her hair is brown, right? And the central background is yellow. Which colour are her eyes closest to?

Also, it's said in the game that Nanako doesn't have a Persona/Shadow side because she's too young although it has to be said that this image is hardly following canon anyway (and it's all the better for it).

MC doesn't have a shadow, either. Or at least, due to his getting his power directly activated, he didn't need to fight it. It would have been interesting, though. But yeah, non-canon

That aside, I enjoy fan art that explores the "what if"s of a series, and this is delightfully creepy.

Personas = tamed shadows through ego.

Actually, Personas are only considering tamed shadows of ego/through battle in P4. The Personas seen throughout the first three games (and possibly in 3) are parts of yourself that can be summoned into battle. This would be reflected in the fact that each person who uses a Persona is a different Tarot... Or that's a theory I've got for it.
However, this was how they were described by Philemon, the King of Unconsciousness and Consciousness. he and Nyatharlotep played a very large role in the first two games on the series (P2: IS and EP are considered one game.) Also, the yellow eyes would technically be considered Nyatharlotep's version of the Persona User in question... But it's really hard to say for Nanako.
In other words, it's basically a hell of a lot different - Dark/Shadow Persona Users are technically in Game 2 (IS and EP) as Nyatharlotep's interpretation of the jealousies, hatred, loss and negative emotions of Maya, Tatsuya, Bao Fu, an Ulala. It can mean that there are parts of them that can be conjured into another personality, however- since we see in the official art of Eternal Punishment(let me know if I'm wrong on which part of P2 this cover art's on) that Maya has the yellow eyes and a Shadow/Dark Persona User because of the sins Tatsuya committed against her.

Out of curiosity, who is she talking to?

They're the same in P3 - pieces of people's psyches that remain behind and manifest during the Dark Hour, and can become Personae of the same Arcanum of the Tarot as the shadow they were when defeated (tamed).
Individual people are of different Arcana because of the predominant traits of their personality. The Personae that are born from their egos match their Arcanum for that reason.
For why it still applies to P4, just remember the true nature of the Midnight Channel.

Thanks for clearing that up for me on P3, and P4. I wasn't so sure about it. So that makes me feel a little bit better... AND I have more knowledge on the subject. I was thinking they had tossed that idea out the window when I first started P4 - I haven't had a lot of time to play it, let alone get enough time to connect them. Goes to show even though I played the first two, I can always learn.

Possibly. It could be Adachi (since so many people pair them together)?

I'm not sure if I'm right, but this may have something to do with a story on fanfiction.net under the "Megami Tensei" category that had Nanako say something like this. I'm not sure if the story came before or after this picture, but the quote in question was aimed at Chie in the tale.

If I remember correctly, I think the story was called "The Perfect Role Model".

It might be Chie, but I honestly thought it was shadow Nanako talking to Nanako

I always felt like the real reason why Nanako didn't have a Shadow was because they didn't want to have a child go through that/ act that way in the game. There's a whole lot of disturbing stuff already but even the japanese have limits.

Ken was 10 in P3. Nanako may not have been far off from having an accessible Persona in the first place.
