I totally understand the whole "touhou strawman" when I look at this and those three: post #426058 post #426065 post #426075 I'd consider those chibi-ized (like a 8 year old's) the lowest possible approvable quality, and nobody would vote up nor favourite them if it wasn't Touhou.
Well, it's clean and more detailed than Chen. And out of the three who favorited, one has over 5000 favs and the other has over 1000 and a negative record for "stupid comments". And all of them had at least 1/6 of their posts deleted = they were shit or duplicates.
Eh. I wouldn't upvote them or favor them, but neither do I think they're bad quality. Simplistic, yes, but I'd hazard a guess that "simplistic" is what the artist was going for.
I'm pretty late on this, but I think it's cute. Maybe it's not the most well drawn thing on the site, but it's got a nice style to it. It's not sloppy either. Is it so bad for people to like something just because it has a character their familiar with, regardless of how much effort was put into it? Also, I don't understand that term, "touhou strawman" and I doubt I will, considering how long ago this debate ended.
