Some artists don't like their works being re-uploaded to other sites especially if those sites are trying to profit off those works. Some times they contact the site first to ask them to stop hosting their art other times they just wipe or lock their accounts with little to no word.
There are also cases where an artist gets dog piled by wannabe art critics to the point they have had enough and wipe those accounts usually starting again under a different name.
