Do you think the big block words would have to be all red to merit a "Kill La Kill" tag, or would this qualify as a blatant enough reference?
I was wondering about that but think not. The KLK titles were always flat 2D blocks (afaicr), but these have depth. It's more like Ido was going for a Berlin Wall allusion and the KLK resemblance could well.be incidental or outright accidental.
On a side note, does anyone know about Ido's plan for future book releases? We have the Hornet (and Europe 2: Electric Boogaloo) arc, the just finished Graf arc, and now a new arc. Not to mention he's planning on compiling his old stuff (pre-Ark book) and a new arc about Iowa and Idomiral into another book.

Kill La Kill occasionally did a gag where the flat blocks would appear during dialogue but then later in the scene characters would interact with them as if they were actual physical objects in the scene - at which point they'd be given said depth.
After seeing the translation though, I'm leaning on not tagging it as a reference because it's just the title of the book. If the blocks said something like "WELCOMING PARTY" and were just restating what Bismarck was saying I'd definitely go for it though.
However, it is not simply a welcoming party for the new girls, as we are inviting the Admiral and the Japanese fleet as well!We shall be holding a banquet to show our thanks to the entire base, to those who support us day-in-day-out!In order to make this as grand a feast as can be,ALSO SPRACH
