So, they are forcefully removing the kid from a base of shipgirls which he has excelled at raising, potentially putting precious war assets and the civilians in the zone he's in charge of in risk of Abyssal attacks, jut because they miss their baby boy?

From a parent's perspective I understand, but from a military's perspective, the dad should be court martialed for abusing his power like that.

Considering his son's age, the rationale is likely that he wants to give his son a normal childhood experience, because that parental bond will only happen once in a life-time. They have noble intentions, but the kid also loves his base.

The only possibility I can think of is making frequent visits to his parents every now and then so that he can properly keep in touch, without leaving his base entirely.

As parents they should be able to make a time to visit kiddo base.....rather than forcing a one way order like boss to his underlings.

instead of taking him from the base, they should have visited it on their time off (if possible)
They could have learn a lot, just from that one trip to his base. (and not just the parents)

And as soon as the girls know what they intend there is going to be a raid on that base.
