Call me pessimistic, but based on that last panel it feels like a lot of the issues that led to this dumpster fire are just going to continue to fester. Nothing looks to have been resolved except Yamato’s desire to go all-out in a fight.

Not to be confrontational, but what are the issues in question? This seems like any other day in Idobase.

If by "issues" you mean the Black Matter furikake, then Riche got neutralized by KuroKatori & Got before her plan even began. The zuiun dance Hyuuga started and Riche's zuiun plan are two different things. Gangut slipping the stuff into the Anglos' drinks? Same deal as Hyuuga's subliminal messaging, so don't expect serious comeupance. And like others have said the drugged Anglos were cool and the whole plan was for Tashkent to switch into Soviet TALK mode. TALK, not starting fights. The Anglos started the fight because they thought Zuiun dance = religion = bad.
Warspite and Iowa having their jimmies rustled because Gangut and Tashkent exist? That's Tuesday.
I will admit though the Iowa-Yamato fight got barely shown, which was kinda anti-climatic. Hopefully the print version will have more, because adding more pages showing the fight will not really impact the storyline as a whole.

They started the fight after Gangut gave her spiel about how great the Soviets were... while they were in a state open to subliminal messaging. And said state was (inadvertently, but nonetheless directly) caused by Gangut spiking the drinks. The party would have continued on (mostly) uneventfully if she simply hadn’t spiked the drinks.

I think that is possibly a deliberate (and most likely good) choice on Ido’s part. Imagine the potential internet firestorm he could receive from either side if he showed one as being superior.

You say dumpster fire, I say sweet-ass party. A sit down dinner's nice and all but the explosions really livened things up.
I also partly think the reasons we took the elements of this party more seriously than the same things happening everyday is because Bisko hyped up the party too much, and we just came over from the serious-ish plotline of Kurobukki too.
I mean, look! Everyone's got their happy faces on!And that's due to the party that you put on!It's because we trust in you and your abilities as a leader that everyone in the Foreign Ships' Dorms was even able to get this far with the preparation...You were even able to get the Japanese girls to come here and pull off this grand party, right! It's more like a grand explosion, though...Hnn...This base is something else...I'm sorry! I did my best but it still turned into a mess!Go and confirm if there's any injure-Even though I worked so very hard for you and everyone else, Admiral!Don't worry!GFLEGH!I'm sure that everyone knows that you did the best you could, Bismarck!I'm a failure of a leader!Cheer up!Admiraaaal!!
