If it used Electromangnetics, it isn't a Railgun, it is a Coilgun. A Rail Gun uses Electrical Current along two Rails, with the project being pushed by the Current passing through it.
"Railguns use two sliding or rolling contacts[1] that permit a large electric current to pass through the projectile. This current interacts with the strong magnetic fields generated by the rails and this accelerates the projectile."

The working principles might be different, but electromagnetism is the basis of both.
5900 m/s huh? Even if the projectile was just 2 kilos it'd have about 34 megajoules of muzzle energy. An M-1 tank's main gun develops about 8 megajoules.
The more I look at this picture, the more the sizing makes me laugh. I thought that the girl was life sized, but then the scope and what looks like the stock are useless. Then I thought that the girl was miniature, holding a relatively normal sized gun, but then the pistol grip is too small for anyone bigger. Still, I love the design.
