Wow, really? All he did was post hearts, denoting that he liked the art, and he gets 18 downvotes? I think yall need to chillax, doods. It's not like he said the N word at MLK's grave or something. I've seen other comments of similar "quality" and they don't get nearly as chilly a reception as 18 downvotes for a couple of heart emotes.

Pointless comments are very likely to be downvoted. He might just do that "no bump" comment so people won't see it.

People downvotes because they dislike things. They can have different kinds of dislikes, but generally posting emojis that contributes ZERO to a post is going to earn you major downvotes.
And what you're doing, necro-ing a 3 months old comment only to defend the guy? Same thing.
To add to the above, we occasionally have multiple emoji commenters spamming emoji-only comments across several posts, resulting in the comment feed being filled with pointless no-text emoji flooding.
The community's response is to REFLEXIVELY downvote them. This hides the comments. Problem fixes itself.
Personally, I dislike messages comprised of just horny reactions or emojis because they usually aren't conversation starters.
But more importantly, downvotes aren't that much important. They just mean your comment wasn't well received by the community, not that you are unwelcome.
