I'm pretty sure cuddling a tarantula is a terrible idea.
IIRC they usually won't bite unless you push them down, and there's also the hair flinging thing. So by cuddling you're pushing them down and putting your eye right where the hairs fly.
Even if they did bite you, their venom is weak. It'd hurt like hell, and you might feel a bit nauseous, but that's it.

That depends on if they are an "old world" tarantula or "new world" tarantula. Old World tarantulas aren't as hairy, don't have the urticating hairs, and tend to be highly aggressive. Definitely not cuddle material. New World tarantulas are a lot more docile and have the hairs that can be very irritating. Still not very cuddly but more so then the old world ones.
