I would not call this an "awful face," flagger. In the first place I don't think flags should be based on such subjective criteria, especially when explained in only two words (don't even get me started on flags that just say "poor quality"). After all, why should your aesthetic sense be deemed more correct than anyone else's? I would rather flag for objective flaws like distorted anatomy. If anything in this post, I might point out the thin neck, but that's a pretty minor gripe that seems worse than it actually is because of the hair positioning.

Approval is subjective, so I don't see why Flags can't be. As long as the reasoning isn't blatantly invalid, then all that matters is whether or not it gets re-approved. Quality is subjective, and it's a valid flagging reason. An approver's aesthetic sense is already treated as more valid than anyone else's by virtue of having approval privileges. Flagging exists to counter that. Please don't police a user's right to flag what they think isn't good enough for Danbooru.

Personally, I wouldn't say this is awful, but I wouldn't say it was especially good, either. It's borderline at best. (I'm not the flagger, before anyone gets that idea.)

Valid. It just frustrates me when the effort of uploading and tagging is negated by a two-word flag. Builders and approvers have ostensibly proven themselves with consistent positive behaviors, so I would just hope for a clearer explanation if their higher tenure/status is to be challenged. Doesn't help that in my experience, being returned to the mod queue seems to spell death 90% of the time, so something in my brain automatically equates "flagged" with "deleted" and now no one else will be able to view a post and judge it for themselves unless they specifically include status:deleted in their search.

Ultimately, I fear I have climbed too high on my soapbox and must step down before I snap my poor ankles on the descent.

Ultimately the flag reason doesn't matter. Flags are essentially re-checks. If it's bad then it deserves to be deleted.

    This, and to quote evazion:

Approvers are expected to look past the reason and use their own judgment when reviewing posts. What the flagger wrote doesn't matter, you're supposed to look at the post itself and make up your own mind. And that's what I think most people do. They look at the post and don't pay much attention to what the flagger wrote.
