Being unnecessarily vulgar is one thing. But a simple "I love this"?
I know it's weird, but the probability of upvote and downvote on certain comments are pretty much RNG - it's better to ignore them;no harm done, you lose nothing. However, it's the 2nd comment...

Favorite function exists, so I imagine whoever downvoted those kind of comments just don't wanna see people litter the comment section with one-liners.
Here we got a large spectrum of comments, likestrange comments (comment #2159716) or roleplaying/overly creative but ended up annoying comments (comment #2159710) which ultimately does nothing but gets downvoted.

Don't be dumb and I won't feel the need to call it out. Plain and simple.

But it was the only comment. So if that's the logic, how is it litter? And if it was an annoying comment, how? I like the character, and I like the skin. Why is that deserving of so many downvotes especially of I'm not getting any feedback until I call it out?

Sometimes the comment feed gets flooded with multiple "one-liner" comments saying "I love this" or words to that effect. A lot of users kinda got annoyed with this after a while so they developed a habit of reflexively downvoting these kind of comments if they see it in the comment feed, even if it's just one.
Part of it is that such comments are viewed as nonconstructive and unnecessary; the unspoken "etiquette" is that if someone likes a post they can just hit favorite instead of letting everybody know and bumping the post to the top of the comment feed.

Well sucks to be them because if I see something great I'm gonna say it's great whether people like it or not. Why is a post getting bumped a bad thing? If something is good shouldn't it get bumped? Maybe it should be spoken etiquette so that people who potentially not know aren't shat on 🤦♂️

We actually did have a howto:comment for various Dos and Don'ts, but it was deleted a while ago for being redundant with the community rules, and otherwise being full of stuff that wasn't really against the rules, and mostly too subjective. Plus no one ever read it, anyway. Not that anyone ever reads the rules, either, or anything else for that matter.

It's be different if I was spamming bullshit or something. But expressing that I like Taihou's skin every so often isn't that no matter anybody thinks. So the negative downvoting just comes off as weebs being pissed someone likes something they don't.
