(quick edit to correct speeds) For those curious, Shimakaze capped out at 40.8 knots making her one of the fastest destroyers... if it weren't for Le Terrible who clocked in at 45 knots making her the fastest WW2 destroyer.
IIRC Le Terrible's trials speed has yet to be beaten by any destroyer.
(Though the modern Freedom and Independence class LCS can all match or exceed Le Terrible's record, they're oversized patrol boats and definitely not destroyers.)
Also at 42.5 knots Tashkent was faster than Shimakaze as well. Though she kinda cheated since she wasn't carrying her full armament during trials. The Soviets were late in producing her B-2LM twin turrets so she temporarily carried open-backed B-13 single mounts like the Gnevny and Leningrad classes. This cut her weight by 111 tons.

42.5 knots is the design speed for Tashkent, she hit 43.5 knots without her full armament (aka when she cheated). On a related note, Leningrad was able to hit 43 knots under emergency power but was deemed too dangerous due to excessive trimming.
Interestingly enough, in Ships, at tier 8, she's pretty much an unrivaled destroyer in terms of sheer speed and her hyperdakka can potentially shred her gun oriented counterparts in short order. Why her, Malin, and Triomphant's big sister cant handle the way she can is mildly discouraging.
To add salt to the bunny destroyer, she probably doesn't need the smoke canister as she can dance the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy when enemies are attempting to shell her to little or no success

I mean, not that any of that matters when T8-10 planes can do 200knts and don't care if they get shot down because they get 3D printed in 90s. Oh, and the 3D printer itself is basically invulnerable to most DD guns and sits on the other side of the map where it can't be shot. :cap_old:
