That's actually a perfectly correct use of 'rendering.'

Well, at least as correct as 'draw.' It'd sound better to me to say 'a really nice rendition of a guitar,' or 'the author rendered this guitar well,' or 'the author's rendering of Nagato's guitar was good.'
