Optional? Kind of. You can toggle between old and redesign in your own playthrough but cutscenes will use the redesigns regardless of whether you set it to the old designs or not

A part of me understands that it would take more work hours, which means more money, to implement alternate versions of the cutscenes based on which outfit is selected, so opting for using only the "allowed" ones make sense.
Another part of me is angry that censorship is being forced down my throat.
