Under the implication that the trigger shoots the sword out then yes.
Looking at hpw it's constructed, the firing mechanism actually activates a resettable piston to the side of the blade that impacts the blade guard to brute force the sword out of the scabbard. It doesn't make logical sense or works with physics, but is cool.
