"Solemn bangs"? Is that referring to he haircut that hid her blind eye?
Yeah, I thought it was an odd wording choice myself, but my brain was thinking that the author was trying to make some sort of double meaning between the literal amount/heaviness of them and their use as somewhat of a mourner's veil, given her condition. That's the only thing I could think of for that particular vocabulary choice anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It might also be a meta reference. The "bang swept over one eye" haircut on a pale-haired girl is kind of a meme at this point. Maybe it's a reference to the character type associated with that haircut being "solemn", the way that twintails was with tsundere?

Her left eye isn't "blind", it was stated at the beginning of the story that it was removed. Until the speech bubble said otherwise, I was afraid that the eyelids were gone as well, leaving an exposed empty socket.
After bathing, Ane and Mone joined in and the four of us finished up dinner. Compared to before, the scars on Reszurre's skin appear to have healed considerably, so from now on I'll just keep an eye on those while relying on a medicinal salve and her natural recovery. At least from the view of an outsider, they might be a little less painful to look at now.I'm going to cut your bangs a bit...I'll leave it to you...Let me know if it's too tight or hurts......OkayBecause the inflammation around her left eye had abated, I fitted it with a leather eye patch made from the thick skin of an elephant whale in order to protect her sunken eyelid. I also cut the solemn bangs used to hide her scars, giving her a natural air so that she would no longer stand out in the middle of town.
