My guess is that the dude didn't think they were dating for real and ends up voicing his confusion over the matter which leads to her having a full blown tsun-attack and yelling, "Hah, who'd ever want to date YOU?!" or something like that. Which of course leads to her holing up in her room and little bro saying, "Nee-chan is having a mental breakdown." to their oddly cute mother. At least that's my guess.

I can make out what Little Bro is saying, so the full blown tsun-attack theory isn't that far off, as he's saying something about how Nee-chan isn't coming out her room, but he thinks she's crying, to the shock of their mother.
