Finally a proper tribute without cringy Tumblr reference.
Agreed, nice to see something more respectful, especially when it's regarding the passing of one of the most important figures in history, especially in the last 70 years.

Important? She was a celebrity's celebrity. That's all.

She may have just been a very famous lady, but even you have to admit, in terms of the presence she had in this world, over the past 70 years, there's few that can match how often she appeared in the media as a charity worker or just as someone who went on visits to maintain the traditional order of one of the oldest surviving monarchies. If she wasn't an important figure, even as a celebrity, there wouldn't be this much attention being brought to her peaceful passing.
Can't say I feel that she has been that important these recent years, but it truly does feel like we are experiencing the passing of an era with her passing on.

Man, the 2070s-2080s will be something when the last person born in the 20th century will pass away. Especially if they are born before the fall of the Berlin Wall and have been old enough to see it and understand what have been going on. And you can argue they have known the world before it all have gone to shit.

Unless some miracle cure for aging isn't found, the 2070s and 2080s are probably going to be when most people born in the 20th century are dead. However, given that the oldest verified human (a French woman named Jeanne Calment) reached the age of 122 years old, there is a very small chance that a person who was born during the late 1990s could still be alive during the 2100s or 2110s.

Even if no one has surpassed her record in a quarter of a century it’s probable that someone will make it to the 2120s.
