When you've seen too many awkward/ruined/unclear confession scenes that it actually took you a moment to process this panel.

It's not often an author takes the obvious self insert MC and retroactively gives them some character AND makes THEM confess instead. I honestly did not see this coming at all which makes this hit pretty hard. Well done.
