(They aren't even in the same order)
    Hoopoe
    * Although it has a similar beak and wings, it isn't a woodpecker!
    @Garlica
    Birdwatching Notes No. 10
    Gu— gu—
    * Walks on the ground to scavenge for food
    * Will nod its head when calling
    Gu— gu—
    Black-and-white striped wings
This is a great spotted woodpecker
    Its beak is longer
    This is a hoopoe
Long and pointy beak (I've only seen it twice at school, so I haven't observed some of its habits)
In the order Bucerotiformes, family Upupidae, genus Upupa, the hoopoe's name comes from its fan-shaped crest. Usually it scavenges on the ground, and during mating season, they build nests in holes in trees to raise their young.
    Prominent crest
    Retracted crest
    AAAH I'VE BEEN CAUGHT
Its only sound is very short
(Timbre is a little like the cuckoo)
Its long beak is used for digging in the ground, not pecking wood!
