(Looking into it, apparently the Yoshino cherry tree "single lifespan" theory has a lot of naysayers too.

A reanimation system created through a great deal of research to save all the Yoshino cherry trees about to surpass their lifespans at the same time. The tree is made to imagine that it still has lifespan left, creating a state of living while dead where "death does not exist".
