"According to the development staff comments that begin at around the 57-minute mark of the stream, a new entry in the series will not be released any time soon: “To be honest, it will still take quite some time to develop a new Etrian Odyssey game, as the hardware has changed from the two-screen DS (Nintendo DS/3DS).” So while there is no official movement on that front, it’s likely that preparations for a new title are steadily underway.
It was also noted that the new remasters are the result of continued research and were created based on the concept of wanting the original three titles to be playable on current consoles. They would also like to utilize the feedback from those who play these remasters when developing a new entry, so fans can look forward to what lies in store for the future of the Etrian Odyssey series."
Sorry to cut your text short, but it seemed too long to use in a quote...
On my interpretation, "Still a long way off" does not deny the possibility, so I actually get more hopeful. Now I just need to survive enough time to see if they make one. XD
"trans pride" You would not call ice cream with these colors trans ice cream so please don't start a head canon.
If I saw ice cream that was pink, white, and sky blue, I would absolutely call it trans ice cream. And the original manual explicitly instructs you to use your imagination, so I'll start whatever headcanons I want, thank you very much.
If you saw Ice scream and did that id ask you when did ice scream have a gender.... but yeah, what you said is not fact, so what I said still holds true. You can believe it just don't go around acting like its 100% true.
He never said it was fact, or said anything to suggest he thought it was fact. You're just getting really uppity over nothing.
You're 12 days to late to try and drum up stuff and when someone one is clearly calling a character with those colors trans when they are in fact not then yes that is them acting like its fact.
Trans pride =/= trans The original comment was obviously said in jest, but you got butthurt over the very mention of something trans.
Also, you don't know they're not trans. Why is it okay for you to enforce your baseless headcanons but nobody else? The members of your party don't even have personalities, if someone wanted to say one of them was trans, there is nothing saying they can't. They're just avatars. That's called using your imagination.
I think you missed something, I never said that were anything else, all I said is that its not trans pride because of those colors. And how is that head canon on my part when its fact that, that color is not representative of trans. You say trans pride =/= trans yet the person themselves says they would call ice scream with the same colors trans ice scream. So no they din't say it in jest they were serious.
Those colors are literally the trans pride flag colors, so yeah, they kind of are representative of trans. Probably not the artist's intent when designing the character, but it's just an avatar for you to do with as you wish. I doubt the artist would care as much about this as you do.
I'm pretty sure you're just a transphobe, there's no other reason for you to be this defensive over something like this.
Ah look I don't agree with something you said and you call me a transphobe last time I remember I don't have a phobia and fear trans people. Heck iono from pokemon has the same colors those color are not representative of the trans community.
Yeah, I guess that's why they have a flag using those colors, that they use to represent themselves. I don't know what I was thinking.
Let's all not forget why we're having this conversation. You getting needlessly confrontational over a completely harmless, obviously joking comment, and telling someone they're not allowed to make headcanons, then backpedaling and insisting they were 100% serious, while arguing your own headcanons as fact
Nobody has to fear trans people to be a transphobe, any more than a hydrophobic coating on your car's windshield fears water. You are purposefully twisting words in a way that homophobic and transphobic people have long used to steer the conversation into a debate over semantics, and you are fooling no one.
Last I remember the current trans flag has way more colors then those, so I'll tell you this if it was so harmless then why did they just call me a transphobe just for disagreeing What I said is not a head canon its fact that those color do not solely represent the trans community. Consider this the last comment on the topic cause if anything I already said what I said and can just leave it at that.
Since you apparently have no idea what the Transgender flag looks like
Also, your headcanon is here, bolded for emphasis:

Boy, that sure looks like you enforcing a certain "interpretation of a fictional universe accepted by an individual or small group of fans, but not necessarily found within or supported by the official canon." That avatar not being trans is no more supported than it being trans, seeing as they literally have no personality and exist for you to give them whatever story you like.
I said it would be my last comment but I guess I have to address this part... how is that a head canon me stating a fact that said character is not trans because they have those colors iono from pokemon has the same colors on her yet is not considered trans.
For the last time, no one said the princess was trans. No one is trying to prove that she is. You have just twisted everything that's been said to you to create a false equivalency. In fact, the only one here stubbornly arguing that the character is or isn't something is you, and you have nothing to base your assertions on. You just keep pulling from entirely unrelated things to make your points.

Then what does the word mean since how does disagreeing with someone make you a phobe this you don't say straight phobe, I don't think any of you even know what the word means yet use it and whenever it comes up its always when theirs a disagreement.
From Merriam-Webster since you're too lazy to do it yourself.
: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against transgender people
You're being accused of transphobia because someone jokingly referred to a pastel colored character as "trans pride prince(ess)" and you made a big, hypocritical stink about it, and have proceeded to present nothing but bad faith arguments. You can't prove that a character with no pre-established personality isn't trans (not that anyone was even trying to prove they were in the first place), and the existence of other similarly colored characters doesn't change that. Stop bringing up Iono. She has nothing to do with this, and no one cares.
It just looks like you're mad that someone mentioned trans things, which would make you transphobic if true.
Maybe I didn't explain myself well enough so that's my bad, but when someone says trans pride what else would that mean other then that character is representing trans people.
It means that they're making a joke about the flag colors. It's not literal. This is really silly.
Maybe I didn't explain myself well enough so that's my bad, but when someone says trans pride what else would that mean other then that character is representing trans people. What I was saying is that it's not necessary true since that color is not exclusive to the the trans community just because they adopted it does not mean all other or new media that use it are showing trans pride. I even said they can believe it but just don't act like it 100 percent true. Never said they were just said don't go in that direction. I have not once discriminate against anyone or even said something should not exist just disagreement and like I said if you can't explain what transphobia is and have to ask someone else to look it up and you can't just type up the meaning then is it really the right thing to call someone if you yourself can't explain it and educate the person. What I said is still a fact not everything that uses it means it represents trans pride it's case by case thing.
Are you seriously trying to clown on me because instead of just expecting you to take my word for it, I went and looked up the MERRIAM-WEBSTER definition of the word because it would be a more reliable source than my own stupid mouth? You clearly didn't know what it meant, despite having access to tools to find that information yourself. So, I provided it for you.
The problem here is that NONE of the things you've argued against are actually happening. It was a fucking joke, that you have taken too seriously, and in the process of arguing against nothing, have spouted transphobic rhetoric. No one is literally saying the character is trans or a representative of the trans community, it. Was. A. Joke.
Then what does the word mean since how does disagreeing with someone make you a phobe this you don't say straight phobe, I don't think any of you even know what the word means yet use it and whenever it comes up its always when theirs a disagreement.
Like I said, steering the conversation into a debate over semantics.
The ironic thing is, arguing about labels like this is completely pointless. People judge us by our words and actions, not the labels we use to describe ourselves. For instance, I never have to explain to anyone that I'm not transphobic, because I consistently, unequivocally express the belief that trans people deserve to have their identities respected and are entitled to the same rights as cis people. Whereas you felt the need to start an argument with someone who recognized the colors of a Pride flag in an image, and people will draw their own conclusions from that no matter how you try to deflect.
Will you bunch of assholes just shut the fuck up please? There is a clear distinction between male and female Sovereigns in the series art. as well as Japan not supporting Tran anything. BUT, since every character can be named whatever the fuck you want go be Tran inclusive or not in your own playthroughs. Stop policing the greater population of fans.

No one's policing anything. What part of "Haha funny trans colors joke" is so hard to understand? And Japan has plenty of creators that support trans people and have positive trans representation in their works, so don't even start on that. Or are we just going to pretend there wasn't a huge shitstorm over the creator of GG making one of his characters trans?
I would really rather not participate in this to any extent, but it's bothering me that no one else has pointed out that her hair is a tricolor of pink/yellow/blue, so it doesn't even correspond to whatever you are going on about here.

The discrepancy was never relevant to the argument. The exact colors don't matter because it was never more than a joke. She's a pastel-colored princess with a color scheme similar to the trans flag colors, there's enough to make a light-hearted comparison.

You'd think they would notice something like that nope just downvote and call someone a transphobe just cause, Like just now I said "fine" and they proved my point just dislike.
It was already explained why your behavior looked transphobic. Consider dropping the victimized attitude, it's not a good look. Neither is acting like everyone else is stupid when you didn't mention the colors being wrong either.

It's a pale enough yellow that it can look white if, hypothetically, someone who enjoys both Etrian Odyssey and Beast Wars was skimming Danbooru on their phone on the way to work.
