Arven has got to have the worse upbringing of any pokemon character. One parent abandoned him and the other straight up died, had a robot clone made of them and then literally left this reality to parts unknown. All on top of the fact that his dog nearly died right in front of him. I'm surprised the boy doesn't have panic attacks.

Counter Argument: he at least did be raised by an abusive foster father that brainwashed him into thinking everyone else is the bad guys having him work for him as a the puppet leader of a terrorist organisation just so the father can kill him and obtain the legendary pokemon that created the region
